What are the difficulties of going on holiday with autism?
Limitless travel is an organisation founded by people with disabilities and is proud to provide tailor made holidays for those who also have disabilities. Therefore we have a great understanding of the challenges that are present when traveling, whether that’s due to a physical or invisible disability. In that regard, we know everyone has their own circumstances which is why we’ll happily spend time talking over the phone to learn more about your requirements. This way we can recommend a holiday suited to you preferences and have everything already planned for you. Whether that’s a holiday without crowded places, peaceful locations without loud noise or having people with you to provide emotional support.
Can you provide emotional support?
Yes – One of the main benefits of Limitless Travel tour is the welcoming and supportive community we have on every holiday. We travel as a group made up of tour managers, experienced carers and fellow travellers. You’ll always be surrounded by like minded people to keep you company and offer encouragement if when you need any. If your needs are slightly higher we have a range of care package available.
What care is available?
We offer a variety of holiday care packages on each and every one of our autism friendly holidays. From emotional support, through to one to one care, our qualified and experienced carers are on hand to take care of you on your holiday. Every booking made is followed up by a phone call with our Care Manager, who will create a bespoke holiday care plan for you. You will receive support from our office team in the run up to your holiday, and in addition to the care team, you will have the support of a Tour Manager on your holiday too.
Do you feature autism friendly hotels?
Limitless Travel’s autism friendly holidays are based at hotels which are built specifically to cater for the needs of people with a range of physical and mental disabilities. This means that all public areas of the hotel are disabled and autism friendly, with spacious lifts accessing all floors. We'll also make sure that all dietary requirements can be catered for. In guest rooms, travellers can expect lots of open space, with en suite wet room bathroom facilities and roll-in showers. There are usually lots of light and spacious public areas and rooms within the hotels are well sign posted for easy access. If you require anything else feel free to talk to our team and we can communicate this to the hotel to get everything sorted for you.
Do you use autism friendly transportation?
Our coaches have been specially picked to cater for those with disabilities. We understand that everyone is different and if for whatever reason you prefer to sit in a quieter area or close to a carer we’ll arrange it. We also have wheelchair spaces available with access via a lift for those who cant use steps. We also make sure that our drivers are caring and helpful as well as having a high level of disability awareness.
Can you help me at the airport?
We understand that using the airport can be a trying task at times but with some help and advice we’ll make it a much smoother experience. We are unable to book your flights for you but we can help ensure that we fly on the same plane together. This way, you’ll be aided by the previously mentioned supportive community that Limitless provides. If you need some reassurance on the plane or help with your luggage this may be the option for you. Additionally, you can request special assistance from the airport. These services are designed specifically for those with disabilities and are great if you need assistance navigating the airport and ensuring you board your plane on time. If you have any more questions about travelling via plane one, of our travel advisors will happily answer any queries.

Frequently Asked Questions
How did Limitless Travel start?
Limitless Travel was set up by Angus Drummond with the goal to enable the wider disabled community to travel without limits. When Angus was 22 he was diagnosed with a muscle weakening disease called Muscular Dystrophy. Angus knew his mobility would decline so set off to travel the world. On his travels Angus made life-long memories, learnt about new cultures and improved his outlook on life, but at the same time experienced the difficulties of traveling with a disability. This spark of thought then flourished into the founding of Limitless Travel. Since then we have been proudly been providing holidays for people with a wide range of mobility restrictions and disabilities.
How do you guarantee that your tours are accessible?
We understand with first-hand experiences the difficulties of going on holiday with a disability. Too many times we hear how somewhere claims to be accessible, only to then be shocked by inaccessible obstacles like steps and steep inclines. With this in mind, we're proud to offer completely disabled friendly and accessible holidays. We have achieved this through a number of methods but most importantly is the fact that we pre-vet all of our destinations, transportation, hotels and excursions. Our experts visit all of our locations before we feature them to guarantee that they meet our very high standards.
What kind of care are you able to provide?
We are able to create bespoke care plans to suit your specific requirements by using our variety of care packages. Starting with our group support which is included on every tour, you can then choose to include as much or as little care as you require. Our care manager will help you select what package is right for you. Once you’re on tour your needs can then be met by one of our many qualified carers. We can offer a large range of support in our packages, whether that's someone to push your wheelchair, provide care throughout the night and much more. For more details on our care packages please visit our care page.
I haven’t travelled for a long time, will I be ok?
Of course - we’ve designed our holidays so that anyone can enjoy them. Some of our travellers hadn’t been on holiday for over 10 years before they joined us on a Limitless tour. We enable people with disabilities to go on holiday by taking care of barriers like accessibility and creating disabled friendly holiday itineraries. We’ve also found that some people just need the extra security of knowing that they’ll receive the right level of support.
Whether you’re feeling apprehensive because you’re a solo traveller or haven't been on holiday in a while, we’re happy to help. Every tour is made up of a group and at least 60% of those who join us are solo travellers. This results in every tour having its own supportive and non-judgemental community with others who have experienced what it’s like to have a disability. One of our most frequent pieces of feedback is that the best part of the holiday was being part of a community and forming new friendships.
How do I know that all my requirements will be catered for?
Before booking a holiday you can have a chat with one of our trusted team members to discuss your requirements. You’ll get to ask any question and make the most of their experience to help choose a holiday that’s tailored to you. At every step of your journey we’ll be available to give you advice. Whether you’re a seasoned traveller or haven’t been on holiday in years, we’ll make sure every question or requirement is catered for. We’ll make booking a tour easy so all you’ll have to worry about is deciding where you want to go next.
