From Shakespeare’s sonnets to the Black Country’s industrial transformation, our English Heritage tour touches on some of the key characters, places and moments in the country’s history. Beginning with Stratford-upon-Avon, the quaint Tudor town that was home to Britain’s beloved Bard, you’ll be exploring England’s rural heart, enjoying the picturesque country landscapes and traditional towns and villages as we go.
In Stratford, you’ll have the chance to tour several of Shakespeare’s homes, including the building in which he was born and raised. We’ll also be boarding a fully accessible boat for a relaxed cruise down the River Avon and you’ll have time to explore the town at your own pace, too.
You’ll enjoy a day out in the Cotswolds, visiting the beautiful Bourton-on-the-Water and touring its highly-regarded Motor Museum while we’re there. With its peaceful atmosphere, traditional cottages and winding rivers, the village is regularly voted one of the prettiest in the UK and is a real pleasure to explore. We’ll also be heading to the immersive Black Country Museum - an open-air recreation of industrial Britain that will transport you back in time with its period details and remarkable authenticity.
