Welcome to paradise! Today, you’ll be joining up with the Limitless Team and your fellow travellers and beginning your journey to the sparkling turquoise seas of the Caribbean. One of the hottest holiday destinations on the planet, Barbados is the epitome of island living and a spectacularly beautiful place to visit.
You’ll be flying directly to Barbados, minimising travel time and the hassle associated with transfers. The Limitless Team will support and assist you with checking-in at the airport and during the flight.
On arrival in Barbados, our accessible transport will be waiting - ready to whisk you off to your luxury, four-star, beachside hotel, where we’ll all enjoy the first meal of the holiday together.
After yesterday’s travel, Day Two is all about taking it easy, settling and getting to know your accommodation. With three accessible pools and instant access to a dreamy, postcard-perfect Barbados beach, we’re sure you’ll fall head-over-heels for the hotel.
As with all Limitless holidays, the hotel has been visited in-person and fully vetted by our experienced team, so we can guarantee it’s suitable for all Limitless travellers. On our Barbados tour, this accessibility extends to the beach, which benefits from excellent, disabled-friendly facilities and equipment.
Time for our first excursion! Today, we’ll be heading over to the Mount Gay distillery for a fantastic rum tasting tour. Mount Gay has been making some of the world’s finest rums for more than 300 years and is one of the island’s most iconic exports.
On your tour, you’ll receive a welcome cocktail, sample four of the distillery’s best brews and then be given a guided tour of the factory, which has been in operation since 1703. You’ll learn about the history of rum production in Barbados, discover how it’s distilled and gain a deeper insight into the drink’s cultural significance on the island.
We’ll also stop for a spot of lunch and there will be an opportunity to indulge in some rum shopping at the gift centre. Then it’s back to the hotel for a relaxing evening and dinner.
Today, we'll visit Accra beach - an idyllic spot that’s just a short, scenic walk from the hotel. There will be beach wheelchairs available for hire and plenty of opportunities to cool off with a refreshing dip in the tranquil waters.
In the afternoon for anyone that fancies we'll take a trip over to Freights Bay, a known spot for turtles swimming close to shore.
The Limitless Team will be on-hand at all times to help you in and out of the sea and ensure you’re comfortable. If you would like to give snorkelling a go, we’ve got all the equipment you need and can help you enjoy a fantastic view of the diverse tropical sea life swimming below the surface.
On Day Five, we'll visit Welchman Hall Gully, a spectacular wildlife park that’s home to a playful troop of monkeys, the world’s smallest snake (don’t worry - it’s harmless!) and is also said to be the birthplace of the grapefruit. Established by General William Asygell Williams, who was banished from the UK by Cromwell after losing the Battle of Bristol, it’s now owned by the Barbados National Trust.
During the visit, a local guide will take us around the park, recounting the gully’s fascinating history, talking us through the wildlife you’ll see and describing the conservation efforts being made to protect it. There will also be a fantastic lunch at the Chunky Monkey Cafe - we wholeheartedly recommend the fishcakes!
After a leisurely breakfast, you’ll have the chance to relax, unwind and soak up the Caribbean sun by the pool. In the afternoon, you’ll have the option to visit the busy Hastings Farmers’ Market, where you’ll find a wide selection of local fruits, vegetables, freshly baked bread and local delicacies.
There will also be a diverse array of regional dishes to try, including Trinidadian and Bajan specialities, so this is definitely a great day out for any foodies among you. You’ll find plenty of handcrafted jewellery, crafts and holiday mementoes, so it’s a good opportunity to grab your Barbados souvenirs, too.
On Day Seven, we’ll be visiting the island’s bustling capital, Bridgetown. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city is packed full of colourful buildings, colonial architecture and island rhythms. If you want to enjoy a little retail therapy, head to Broad Street and Swan Street, two of the island’s most famous shopping districts.
If you’re more interested in history, the world-class Barbados Museum and Historical Society is certainly worth a visit. For nearly 300 years, Bridgetown was the British Empire’s most lucrative port and, despite being at the centre of a truly sad, exploitative and unforgivable practice, the city and its maritime history are both fascinating and important. For an extra history hit, you can visit the oldest synagogue in the Americas.
We also recommend trying some of the mouthwatering foods on offer. Whether you want to sit down at a restaurant and dive into some fresh fish or would rather sample some street food classics from one of the many carts you’ll find around the city, there’s great grub galore.
On Day Eight, we’re heading to Harrison’s Cave - one of the island’s most famous and impressive natural landmarks. A breathtakingly beautiful limestone cavern that’s been slowly carved into remarkable shapes and forms over thousands of years, it’s a magical place to visit and one of our holiday highlights.
During your visit, you’ll encounter flowing streams, bottomless pools of crystal clear water and towering, rocky columns. We’ll work our way through the cavern on the disabled-friendly tram, ensuring you’re able to experience all of the natural majesty without worrying about access.
On your last, full day in paradise, you’ll be able to make the most of the hotel, pools and local beach. We want you to feel fully relaxed before heading home, so take some time to kick back beneath the Barbados sun, order in some cocktails and enjoy the company of your fellow Limitless Travellers.
In the evening we'll head over to the famous Oistin's Bay Restaurant to experience "fried fish Friday" where there is live music, and you will get the chance to sample this local delicacy.
Today, your accessible Barbados Tour comes to an end. After a hearty breakfast, we’ll head to the airport, where the Limitless Team will help you check-in and board the flight, then accompany you back to the UK. Now, all that’s left to do is say farewell to new friends and plan your next Limitless adventure!
