Once we have arrived we will check in at your luxury, four-star hotel in the heart of Montpellier. Once you’ve settled in, you’ll be served a delicious three-course meal at the hotel restaurant. Then, you can spend your evening relaxing and getting to know your surroundings. There’ll even be time for a refreshing drink on the hotel terrace whilst watching the sun set over the Mediterranean. Welcome to Montpellier!
We’ll enjoy a relaxed start to Day Two, allowing you time to take a dip in the hotel's large and accessible outdoor pool. After lunch, we’ll head to the awe-inspiring Cathedrale St Pierre. Just a 5-minute drive from your hotel, the cathedral is a national monument that boasts a fascinating history, a grand, gothic facade and an atmospheric interior. On the drive back to the hotel, there will also be a chance to take a photo near the Aqueduc Saint Clements, a historical landmark that dates back to 1766 and used to supply the entire city with water!
Day 3 - Food and Wine Tasting Tour
The Languedoc region is renowned for its fantastic food and world-class wines. Today, you’ll be sampling the best of the area’s local produce on a guided tour. We’ll be joined by a private guide, who’ll help us better understand the impact Montpellier has had on French cuisine.
From seeing how traditional strawberry tartlets are made by the local pâtissiers to tucking into homemade wines, bread and cheeses, this truly is a feast for the senses. The ideal opportunity to get to know one of the world’s most respected culinary cultures, it’s a tour that will live long in the memory (and on the taste buds)!
Today, we’ll be visiting the spectacular Musee Fabre. This local museum homes artwork dating back to the early 1800s. Wander through the galleries at your leisure soaking in the french renaissance art. After this enjoy some refreshments in the local area.
Day 5 - Botanical Gardens and Ice Cream
On Day Five of your holiday, we’ll pay a visit to Montpellier’s beautiful botanical gardens. Considered the oldest botanical garden in the country, the origins of the Jardins des Plantes can be traced back to 1593. With more than 2,500 species of plant, many of which are well known for their healing properties, you’ll experience a brilliantly biodiverse tour of one of the city’s prettiest attractions.
After the gardens, we’ll visit a nearby gelateria, where the Limitless Team will treat you to a traditional ice cream. Then it’s on to the Place de la Comédie, one of Montpellier’s most famous city squares, where live entertainment and the afternoon sun will make for a relaxed and enjoyable end to the day.
Day 6 - Chateau Flaugergues Winery Tour
Today, we’ll be embracing the south of France’s passion for good wines by touring a traditional chateau and its 69-acre vineyard. Dating back to the 17th Century, the chateau is worth a visit alone, while its picturesque gardens are notable for their peaceful tranquillity.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a wine tour without a trip to the cellar. You’ll have the chance to sample some of the Bordeaux region’s finest wines, hear a little about how they’re produced and maybe even pick up a bottle or two as a little reminder of your holiday.
Today, your accessible Montpellier and Southern France tour comes to an end. After a hearty breakfast, the Limitless Team will help you check-out and transfer to the train station, where we’ll board the Eurostar. Now, all that’s left to do is say farewell to new friends and plan your next Limitless adventure!
