Your final port before we head for home! Romantic Cadiz boasts thousands of years of history and has been one of Spain’s most important coastal cities for much of the country’s past. One of the spiritual homes of flamenco, it’s a city with a unique character and visible Arabic heritage, ensuring it’s an enchanting last stop on your cruise.

Almost entirely surrounded by water, Cadiz is one of the Iberian Peninsula’s hidden gems and a favourite amongst many Spanish travellers. The locals are known for their welcoming, down-to-earth character and the city’s restaurants are seafood specialists, so make sure you sit down for some fresh fish before you leave. Our care team will escort you to Plaza de España and the Batería de San Felipe (a canon lined fortress), both of which are within walking distance of the cruise terminal and are great spots to begin your exploration of this sun-soaked city.

Where do you go on a Mediterranean cruise?

On a Mediterranean cruise, you’ll embark on a captivating journey through some of the region's most picturesque and culturally significant destinations.

Your first port of call is A Coruña, a gem in the Galician region known for its strong connections to both the fashion and fishing industries, not to mention its world-class seafood restaurants.

Following A Coruña, the cruise sails to Valencia, Spain’s vibrant third city, celebrated for its vital cultural and culinary scene. The journey continues up the coast to the Catalan capital of Barcelona, a city where you can explore the famous Ramblas and stand in awe of the architectural wonder that is the Sagrada Familia.

Is the sea rough on a Mediterranean cruise?

The Mediterranean Sea is generally known for its calm waters, especially during the peak cruising seasons. While sea conditions can vary, Mediterranean cruises are largely characterised by smooth sailing, thanks to the sea's relatively sheltered nature compared to open ocean voyages.

However, like any large body of water, it can occasionally experience rough conditions, particularly during the off-season months. Passengers are rarely inconvenienced by severe weather, making Mediterranean cruises a popular choice for those seeking a more relaxed and comfortable sea travel experience.
