Exploring the Britannia
Your first day at sea is all about exploring the ship and settling in. Typically, the Limitless Team meets with everyone in the morning to catch up over breakfast, make sure you had a comfortable night, discuss the day ahead, and plan activities. We often lunch and dine as a group as well, so you’re never short of company.
During days at sea, there’s plenty to see and do on the Britannia. As a group, Limitless travellers often enjoy a relaxed morning, followed by a group lunch and some afternoon fun - be it a theatre show or a movie. Then it’s time to get dressed up for a delicious dinner, followed by some fantastic evening entertainment. Of course, how you spend your day is entirely up to you! But it’s good to know that the Limitless Team and your fellow travellers are always around too.
Port Visit
Nestled on Ireland's scenic south coast, Cork is the country’s second-largest city and brims with history, character and a distinct sense of civic pride. The locals are only partly joking when they refer to it as the ‘real capital of Ireland’. The cruise ship will dock in nearby Cobh, a short 30-minute train journey from the centre of Cork.
Once in Cork, you'll have a few hours to explore the city, soak up its laid-back atmosphere and check out the sights. St Fin Barre’s Cathedral is an enjoyable architectural anomaly and accessible, as are the excellent Crawford Art Gallery and the ground floor of the English Market. If you’re into your coffee, Cork is home to a remarkable number of artisan cafes, so grab a lovely latte and watch the world go by.
Onboard Entertainment
There’s never a dull moment on the Britannia. From full-blown musical spectaculars to brilliant magic shows, the on-board entertainment is one of the ship’s biggest draws. We recommend checking out the incredibly popular interactive gameshow, Wavelength, and catching a performance by the always-excellent Headliners Theatre Company, too.
Of course, there’s also plenty of live music to enjoy, as well as stand-up comedy and cabaret performances. If you want a little dinnertime entertainment, the Limelight Club, Live Lounge and Crow’s Nest all put on mealtime performances to remember.
Restaurants & Bars
Dining on the Britannia is a real treat, with something to suit every taste. You’ll find a wide range of restaurants, from elegant fine dining to relaxed buffet options. For a special evening, try the delicious dishes at The Epicurean or the Indian-fusion flavours at Sindhu. Both offer incredible food in stylish settings.
If you're after something more casual, head to the Horizon buffet for round-the-clock meals, or grab a quick bite at the Grab & Go or poolside pizzerias. And don’t miss out on afternoon tea, served with classic British flair. Whether you're looking for a laid-back lunch or a fancy night out, Britannia has you covered.

A pocket-sized capital with plenty to discover, Reykjavík is a truly special destination. While the towering Esja mountain and expansive bay provide a breathtaking backdrop, the city's striking architecture and the warm, Icelandic welcome guarantee this magical destination lives long in the memory.
Whether tasting the country’s always-innovative cuisine, hanging out at an arty cafe, or strolling along the waterfront, Reykjavík is a joy to explore. There’s the iconic Hallgrímskirkja church, with its jaw-dropping facade and the vibrant Old Harbour waterfront area, where you’ll find plenty to eat and drink. Port Visit
Situated on the Westfjords peninsula at the country’s northwestern tip, Ísafjörður is the region’s largest town despite a resident population of only 2,600 people. The town centre is built on a sand spit - the Skutulsfjörður - that juts out into the dark waters of the icy fjord and is hemmed in on all sides by soaring mountains, guaranteeing an unforgettable approach.
Still predominantly a fishing port, Ísafjörður boasts some of Iceland’s oldest and best-preserved buildings and is home to the partially accessible Westfjord History Museum. The town also has several well-surfaced walking trails. Depending on weather conditions and scheduling, Ísafjörður is sometimes an anchor port that requires small tenders to reach shore, restricting access. Learn more about anchor ports in our FAQs.
Port Visit
‘The capital of the north’, Akureyri is an important fishing centre, a busy port and much admired for its highly regarded university. Home to approximately 20,000 people, it is a vibrant and dynamic city with a beautiful botanical garden and a popular local history museum.
But the real star of the show here is the Eyjafjörður - the 70 km-long fjord at which Akureyri sits at the head. An awe-inspiring experience, cruising down the Eyjafjörður offers unparalleled views over staggering landscapes and the chance to spot humpback whales breaching the water, puffins fishing and white-beaked dolphins playing. Depending on weather conditions and scheduling, Akureyri can be an anchor port that requires small tenders to reach shore, restricting access. Learn more about anchor ports in our FAQs.
Pools & Spa
If you enjoy a dip, you’re in for a treat - the Britannia is equipped with four pools, with hoists available if required. We recommend speaking to your Tour Manager early in the day if you plan to go for a swim, and they can help arrange everything.
The Britannia is also great for those who love a little pampering. Wellness facilities include The Retreat VIP alfresco spa terrace, an indoor spa area that offers a range of treatments, a thermal suite and barber and salon services. There’s even a gym if you fancy a little holiday workout.
Boutiques & Art Gallery
The Britannia boasts several shops where you’ll find great deals on luxury items like cosmetics, perfume, jewellery, gifts, clothes and accessories. They stock products from some of the most respected brands on the market, making it easy to while away a morning browsing the ship’s boutiques for a fantastic holiday memento.
For those who enjoy a little culture, the on-board Clarendon Fine Art gallery is certainly worth a visit. There, you’ll find a host of paintings, collectables and other artworks that are sure to delight. You may even end up taking one home with you!
Port Visit
Orkney - a beautiful and captivating archipelago consisting of 70 islands - is arguably one of the most enchanting and intriguing locations in the UK. Rich with folklore and proud of their Norse heritage, the islands are also home to a unique dialect of the Scots language. With ancient Neolithic sites, towering sandstone cliffs and thriving seal colonies, it’s a magical place to visit.
Kirkwall is the largest town in Orkney, with approximately a third of the islands’ total population. Centred on the colourful harbour and main shopping street, the town boasts several interesting attractions. The accessible Orkney Museum offers a fascinating insight into the archipelago’s history, while St Magnus Cathedral dates from the 12th century when Orkney was still part of the Kingdom of Norway.
Port Visit
Invergordon, a small port town in Easter Ross, is best known for its historic ties to the Royal Navy. However, it’s also your gateway to the ‘capital of the Highlands’, Inverness. Situated on the confluence of the River Ness and Moray Firth, Inverness is brimming with history and boasts an excellent Victorian Market filled with food, clothing, and crafts.
On disembarking in Invergordon, the Limitless team will help you board your accessible transfer to Inverness. The city's cathedral is remarkably pretty, accessible and a popular stop for visitors, while the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery is one for the history buffs. After exploring the charming city streets, you can also round off the day with a little whisky tasting at the Uile-bheist Distillery and Brewery.
Sailing Home
By now, you will have spent a few days exploring the Britannia and enjoying the facilities, activities and entertainment. But we guarantee there are still things you’re yet to see, do or find. Have you checked out the onboard art gallery? Eaten at all the restaurants? Taken part in the ever-popular interactive quiz show?
As we make our way back to Southampton, this is a great opportunity to check out those parts of the ship you’re yet to see or return to your favourite spots. Have a chat with your Tour Manager in the morning and organise the perfect day.
See You Next Time
