After boarding the accessible coach at one of our UK pick-up points, we’ll begin the journey to York. Travellers can choose to remain in their wheelchair, which will be safely secured in place, or transfer to a standard seat. On arrival at your four-star hotel located in the heart of the city, you’ll have time to settle in, before tucking into a delicious evening meal.
Following a tasty breakfast, we’ll head over to Scarborough to visit the Scarborough Fair Collection - one of Europe’s largest collections of fairground mechanical organs and showman rides. Featuring vintage cars, miniature railways and vintage fairground attractions, the collection offers a nostalgic look back on popular entertainment and transport over the last few centuries. In the afternoon, we’ll break for lunch at the tearooms and enjoy live entertainment featuring authentic dance organs from the 1800s and a cream tea. After, we’ll take some time out to stroll or roll along Scarborough Prom and browse the many shops that line the harbour-front. Reinvigorated by the fresh sea breeze, we’ll make our way back to the hotel for a fantastic dinner.
York is one of England’s most stunning and historically rich cities. Known to the Romans as Eboracum, the Saxons called it Eoforwick, and the Vikings, who initially came as invaders but settled here, named it Jorvik. York’s more recent history has also left its mark, with landmarks like the iconic York Minster, medieval architecture, grand Georgian townhouses, and its impressive Victorian railway station. Today, you’ll explore this rich heritage. After breakfast, a short five-minute walk will take the group to York Minster, where you can marvel at its breathtaking Gothic design.
York is not only famous for its rich history and stunning architecture but also for its sweet and chocolate-making heritage. The Rowntree family, in particular, played a major role in shaping York’s chocolate legacy. After exploring some of the city’s beautiful landmarks, you’ll visit one of its renowned chocolate shops, where you’ll learn about the chocolate-making process and even have the chance to create your own custom chocolate bar.
After a hearty breakfast, we'll set off for the scenic coastal town of Whitby, driving through the stunning heather-covered hills of the North York Moors National Park. This journey offers a chance to take in some of Yorkshire’s most breathtaking countryside. Upon arrival, you'll have time to explore this charming English harbour town before indulging in some of the finest fish and chips in the UK. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing accessible boat trip along the harbour, offering a fresh perspective on this picturesque seaside destination.
Today, your Scarborough, Whitby and York tour sadly comes to an end. After everyone has had breakfast, our accessible coach will depart the hotel for our various UK drop-off locations. Relax, take in the Yorkshire landscape through the window and enjoy a little commentary from your Tour Manager. Now, all that’s left to do is say farewell to new friends and plan your next Limitless adventure!
