Kenya boasts a remarkable variety of landscapes. From the golden hue of the grasslands and the verdant, breeze-cooled coast to the jagged peak of Mount Kenya and the densely forested interior, the country is blessed with incredible natural wealth. At its heart is Nairobi, one of Africa's most diverse and metropolitan cities and a unique holiday destination.

On your accessible Kenyan holiday, you'll discover the region's abundant wildlife and enjoy an opportunity to get up close with some of the world's largest land mammals and exotic beasts. You'll also be introduced to Kenyan culture, meeting a range of local communities and getting to know the people who make this such a special place to visit.

We've organised fully accessible excursions to the local elephant and giraffe sanctuaries, as well as Nairobi National Park, where you'll get the chance to see lions, rhinos, cheetahs and hyenas. There are also several trips to local villages, where you'll meet a community of Kenyan grandmas and learn about the semi-nomadic Maasai people's unique culture. We'll also fit in trips to the fascinating Karen Blixen Museum and a local tea plantation. Of course, there'll be plenty of time to explore Nairobi and enjoy your luxurious hotel's excellent facilities, too.

    Day 1 - Travel and Settling In

    The journey begins! Today, you’ll meet our team at the airport. We’re there to ensure your flight is as smooth and hassle-free as possible, so don’t hesitate to ask for assistance or support if you require it. On arrival in Nairobi, we’ll board our accessible transfer vehicle and head to your beautiful, four-star hotel in the city centre. The Limitless Team will help you check-in and get your bags to your room before you enjoy a delicious three-course meal and settle into your new accommodation.

    Day 2 - Relaxation Day

    Today is largely about recovering from the flight, making the most of the hotel facilities and getting to know your surroundings. We’ll stay local to the hotel, which is equipped with a heated outdoor pool that’s fully accessible. After a dip in the morning, the Limitless Team will treat you to an afternoon tea at the Dawa Lounge. Then, you’ll have the rest of the day to explore nearby shops and discover the surrounding area.

    Day 3 - Elephant Orphanage & Giraffe Sanctuary

    Today, we\'ll be heading to a highly-regarded Elephant Orphanage. Just a 15-minute drive from the hotel and situated within a popular National Park, the orphanage provides resident elephants with safe and spacious natural surroundings. Every animal has its own story and your guide will give you a little background on why the elephants have been rescued. You’ll also have the chance to see the elephants being fed. In the afternoon, we’ll make our way to Mbuzi Lunch - a traditional Kenyan restaurant that serves up delicious local dishes. There, you can enjoy a wide variety of Nairobi specialities, including baked chicken and rice, wraps, meats and salads. Having refuelled and recharged, we’ll spend the rest of the afternoon at the Giraffe Centre, which cares for endangered species of giraffe. You’ll get up close and personal with these beautiful beasts and even be able to feed them yourself.

    Day 4 - Kazuri Bead Factory & Karen Blixen Museum

    On Day Four of your holiday, we’ll visit the Kazuri Bead Factory. A short drive from the hotel, this business employs more than 300 single mothers, all of whom work together to make traditional, handcrafted beads that are used in jewellery that’s sold around the world. We’ll enjoy a guided tour of this fantastic enterprise and you’ll have the chance to pick up some of your own beads, too. They make for a great holiday souvenir! In the afternoon, we’ll tour the Karen Blixen Museum, which recounts the life and work of the Danish author of ‘Out of Africa.’ Offering a fascinating insight into life in colonial Kenya, the museum is located within the house that Baroness Blixem lived in while staying in the country.

    Day 5 - Day Safari at Nairobi National Park

    Today, we’ll take a short drive into Nairobi National Park for a safari day tour. Regarded as the wildlife capital of the world because of its unique blend of urban and rural environments, Nairobi allows for immediate access to the savannah and all of the wildlife that lives within it. You’ll have the opportunity to spot black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and a remarkably diverse array of birdlife, so make sure you have your camera at the ready. This is a day you won\'t forget in a hurry!

    Day 6 - Kiambethu Tea Farm Tour

    After a hearty breakfast, we’ll depart the hotel and make the journey to Kiambethu Tea Farm. Kenyan tea is renowned around the world and there’s a good chance you will have already sipped at a brew that originated somewhere in the local area! We’ll tour the farm and learn a little about the process of growing, harvesting and processing the leaves. Then, we’ll enjoy a spot of lunch. Watch out for the colobus monkeys though - they’ve been known to steal a banana or two from right under guests’ noses!

    Day 7 - Maasai Tribe Experience

    On Day Seven of your holiday, you’ll spend the day with members of a Maasai tribe and experience their distinctive culture and way of life. A semi-nomadic people who have a reputation as fearsome warriors and talented cattle-herders, you’ll learn a lot about the tribe’s customs, traditions and history. There’s also the chance to watch some traditional singing and dancing, sample authentic Maasai cooking and visit the locals’ homes.

    Day 8 - Kenyan Grandma Kikuyu Village Visit

    Today, we're going to a Kikuyu village on the outskirts of Nairobi. In the village, there’s a large number of Kenyan grandmas who were made responsible for raising children when the kids’ parents were no longer able to care for them. To support the community, an innovative pig-farming programme has been established. In the village, you’ll meet the community’s welcoming grandmothers, be shown around the pig farm and pitch in with the chores (if you like). You can also join in with some joyful singing and dancing over a cup of Kenyan tea, help cook a local lunch of beans and ugali (a maize flour dish eaten across East Africa), or learn how to make chapati (soft layered bread). The grandmas are absolutely lovely and their genuine warmth makes this a day to remember!

    No holiday is complete without an opportunity to pick up some mementoes of your trip. With this in mind, we’ll spend the morning of your penultimate day on holiday at the Maasai market. A colourful and vibrant affair that’s located in the heart of Nairobi city centre, the market sells plenty of handmade goods and souvenirs. Later in the afternoon, we’ll take you up to the Kenyatta International Convention Center. One of the largest buildings in Kenya, it offers unrivalled, panoramic views of the Nairobi skyline and is the perfect end to a wonderful holiday experience.

    Day 10 - Until Next Time

    Today, your accessible Kenya Tour comes to an end. After a satisfying breakfast, the Limitless Team will help you transfer to Nairobi Airport and board your flight. Then it’s time to head back home! Now, all that’s left to do is say farewell to new friends and plan your next Limitless adventure!

    Half board: breakfast and evening meals are included in the price of your holiday. Look forward to fresh and delicious meals to both begin and round off the day.
