Holiday Overview
Kenya boasts a remarkable variety of landscapes. From the golden hue of the grasslands and the verdant, breeze-cooled coast to the jagged peak of Mount Kenya and the densely forested interior, the country is blessed with incredible natural wealth. At its heart is Nairobi, one of Africa's most diverse and metropolitan cities and a unique holiday destination.
On your accessible Kenyan holiday, you'll discover the region's abundant wildlife and enjoy an opportunity to get up close with some of the world's largest land mammals and exotic beasts. You'll also be introduced to Kenyan culture, meeting a range of local communities and getting to know the people who make this such a special place to visit.
We've organised fully accessible excursions to the local elephant and giraffe sanctuaries, as well as Nairobi National Park, where you'll get the chance to see lions, rhinos, cheetahs and hyenas. There are also several trips to local villages, where you'll meet a community of Kenyan grandmas and learn about the semi-nomadic Maasai people's unique culture. We'll also fit in trips to the fascinating Karen Blixen Museum and a local tea plantation. Of course, there'll be plenty of time to explore Nairobi and enjoy your luxurious hotel's excellent facilities, too.

Day 8 - Kenyan Grandma Kikuyu Village Visit
< >Today, we're going to a Kikuyu village on the outskirts of Nairobi. In the village, there’s a large number of Kenyan grandmas who were made responsible for raising children when the kids’ parents were no longer able to care for them. To support the community, an innovative pig-farming programme has been established. In the village, you’ll meet the community’s welcoming grandmothers, be shown around the pig farm and pitch in with the chores (if you like). You can also join in with some joyful singing and dancing over a cup of Kenyan tea, help cook a local lunch of beans and ugali (a maize flour dish eaten across East Africa), or learn how to make chapati (soft layered bread). The grandmas are absolutely lovely and their genuine warmth makes this a day to remember!

Day 9 - Maasai Market & Kenyatta International Convention Centre
< >No holiday is complete without an opportunity to pick up some mementoes of your trip. With this in mind, we’ll spend the morning of your penultimate day on holiday at the Maasai market. A colourful and vibrant affair that’s located in the heart of Nairobi city centre, the market sells plenty of handmade goods and souvenirs. Later in the afternoon, we’ll take you up to the Kenyatta International Convention Center. One of the largest buildings in Kenya, it offers unrivalled, panoramic views of the Nairobi skyline and is the perfect end to a wonderful holiday experience.
