Exploring the Sky Princess

Your first day at sea is all about exploring the ship and settling in. Typically, the Limitless Team meets with everyone in the morning to catch up over breakfast, make sure you had a comfortable night, discuss the day ahead, and plan activities. We often lunch and dine as a group as well, so you’re never short of company.

During days at sea, there’s plenty to see and do on the Sky Princess. As a group, Limitless Travellers often enjoy a relaxed morning, followed by a group lunch and some afternoon fun - be it a theatre show or a movie. Then it’s time to get dressed up for a delicious dinner, followed by some fantastic evening entertainment. Of course, how you spend your day is entirely up to you! But it’s good to know that the Limitless Team and your fellow travellers are always around too.

Day 3 Hamburg, Germany
Hamburg, Germany landscape shot
Port Visit

Situated along the banks of the Elbe River, 70 miles inland from Travemünde, Hamburg is Germany’s second-largest city and its most important port. As a result, it boasts a wealth of maritime heritage and a fascinating history. The city’s extensive waterways mean it’s home to over 2,300 bridges, more than Venice, London, and Amsterdam combined.

Wander around the endless landmarks in the Altstadt (Old Town) and check out the church steeples, baroque architecture and beautiful red brick buildings. Explore Hamburg’s gorgeous green spaces or get a feel for its excellent art scene in the Kunsthalle museum. One of Europe’s coolest and most under-appreciated cities, Hamburg is a delight to explore.

* There is a small chance a water tender will be used to disembark at Hamburg port. Tenders may limit accessibility, as wheelchair users or individuals with limited movement cannot always use them to disembark.

Day 4 Hamburg, Germany

Port Visit

With a second day in historic Hamburg, you can choose to head back into the city and visit any attractions you missed or relax on the ship and enjoy the amenities while everything is a little quieter.

If you opt to head ashore, there is still plenty to see and do. The iconic Fischmarkt (Fish Market) is one of the city’s most beloved institutions and the perfect place to grab a delicious bite to eat. It’s particularly famous for its fish sandwiches. Inner Alster Lake is certainly worth a visit when the sun is shining, as its green shores are dotted with cafes, and boats and pedalos roam the expansive waters. Finally, there are a host of incredible architectural landmarks to enjoy, ranging from the 18th-century St. Michael’s Church to the ultra-modern Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall.

Day 5 At Sea
Princess Entertainment
Onboard Entertainment

The Sky Princess is home to a phenomenal array of world-class performers and boasts spectacular venues to boot. At the heart of the ship’s entertainment offering is the Princess Theater. With its incredible stage sets, lavish productions and ultramodern design, the theatre showcases an extraordinarily diverse range of work, from Broadway hits and fantastic original shows to cabaret and concerts.

Of course, there’s far more to the onboard entertainment than the Princess Theater. The Take-5 Jazz Theater is the perfect spot to listen to and learn about the jazz greats, while the Princess Live! programming features cabaret acts, comedians, concerts and game shows. The Princess’ open-air amphitheatre also boasts a superb cinema screen.

Day 6 Copenhagen, Denmark

The Danish capital is arguably one of the coolest cities in Northern Europe and epitomises the energy, creativity and cultural wealth found in many of Scandinavia’s biggest cities. For Limitless Travellers, it’s a wonderfully accessible city with plenty of recognisable landmarks, pretty pedestrianised streets, and gorgeous canals and waterfront promenade.

Whether you head straight for the famous Little Mermaid statue by the Langelinie Pier or relax in a canal-side cafe with a hot drink, it’s impossible not to fall in love with the city’s laidback charm. The Nyhavn Canal District is home to much of the capital’s historic architecture and is a joy to explore, while Strøget Shopping Street is Europe’s longest pedestrianised street and a great place to pick up souvenirs.

Day 7 Skagen, Denmark
Skagen Kirke (Skagen Church) Denmark.
Port Visit

Denmark’s northernmost town, Skagen is situated where the Baltic and North Sea meet and boasts some of the county’s most breathtaking beaches. Small, cozy and renowned for its evening light, the town attracted a group of influential impressionist artists at the end of the 19th century, and its reputation has only grown since.

On your visit, we’ll head straight for the pedestrianised town square, where there’s an abundance of accessible cafes and boutiques. The Skagens Museum is the best place to get a feel for the work of the town’s famous artists and houses work by Anna and Michael Ancher, P.S. Krøyer, and others. It’s also possible to visit the Anchers Hus museum in Anna and Michael’s historic home. Finally, the harbourfront offers a chance to indulge in delicious local seafood.

Day 8 Oslo, Norway
Oslo Norway Royal Palace
Port Visit

Set beside the water and backed by enchanting forests, the Norwegian capital is a compact city with a huge amount of character. One of the most accessible cities in Europe, it boasts a host of world-class museums and galleries, varied and eye-catching architecture, and a brilliant cafe and food scene.

On docking, the Limitless group will stroll or roll along the harbourfront promenade, taking in the majestic views of the Oslofjord as we go. It’s only 15 minutes to City Hall Square, where we’ll stop for a coffee. From there, the Nasjonalmuseet, Europe’s largest art museum and home to Edvard Munch’s iconic The Scream, is a popular next stop. The medieval Akershus Fortress offers a glimpse into Oslo’s fascinating past, while the Aker Brygge Waterfront is modern Norway at its most compelling.

Day 9 At Sea

One of the world’s busiest ports and the Netherlands’ second city, Rotterdam fully embraces its reputation for innovation and forward-thinking. It’s a fascinating blend of industrial heritage, modern architecture and cultural dynamism, and a pleasant contrast to Amsterdam. There are still plenty of canals and pretty streets to explore, but the city also boasts a defiantly modern edge.

On arrival in Rotterdam, Limitless Travellers have a lot to explore and discover. The group often visits the Kijk Kubus Museum to see the city’s iconic Cube Houses. Though not accessible inside, the incredible architecture of these amazing buildings epitomises Rotterdam's passion for innovation. Close by, the fantastic Markthal (Market Hall) is a great place to grab some local food.

Day 12 Le Havre, France

Port Visit

Located at the mouth of the Seine and one of France’s most important ports, Le Havre is a uniquely modern city. Almost entirely destroyed during the Second World War, it was rebuilt by modernist architect Auguste Perret. Today, Le Havre remains a testament to France's post-war love of concrete and innovative architecture, and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a result.

For Limitless Travellers, the first stop is often St Joseph's Church, which is accessible and features a breathtaking steeple. The Museum of Modern Art André Malraux is also an thrilling destination for art lovers. How does Limitless assist with check in and boarding?

Having met the Limitless Team at the port, we'll accompany you to the special assistance check-in. As it's separate from regular check-in, there are no crowds or lengthy queues.

You'll then be given a boarding time. Usually, we board as a group. However, if this isn't possible and you would like the assistance, we ensure a carer accompanies you onto the ship.

We board via the accessible gangway. This ramp connects the ship to the port. If you require support or assistance, both the Limitless Team and the ship's crew will be on hand to help. There are also manual wheelchairs available to make this transfer easier.

On some ships, the accessible gangway can be a little steep. In these instances, two crew members will provide support - one in front and one behind. You'll never be rushed and your safety and comfort are always the priorities.

Remember, you don't need to pre-book any special assistance at the port! We provide this assistance as standard with all Limitless cruises.

What is Limitless Group Support & Holiday Assistance?

Group Support & Holiday Assistance is included as standard with all Limitless holidays. It's what sets us apart from every other UK holiday provider!

In addition to this, our care team will also reach out to you three months before your holiday to confirm you have everything you need to travel with complete confidence.

What are anchor ports and is Limitless responsible for port changes?

At Limitless Travel, we carefully select cruise itineraries with minimal anchor ports. Anchor ports are those destinations where port logistics mean a small boat or ‘tender’ transport is required to ferry guests to shore. In the vast majority of cases, these tenders are not accessible and some Limitless Travellers will not be able to leave the ship.

Unfortunately, port changes can happen due to any number of reasons while at sea. Limitless Travel cannot be held accountable for any such port changes.

Which side of the ship is best for fjords?

On our Norwegian fjord cruises, both sides of the ship typically guarantee spectacular views of the fjords. However, selecting the “best” side of the ship often depends on the itinerary specifics.

Generally, the starboard (right-hand) side might be slightly better if you’re cruising north and the port (left-hand) side if you’re heading south. In both instances, this is because that side of the ship will spend more time facing the coastline.

Modern cruise ships are designed to maximize visibility and the open decks and public viewing areas guarantee everyone has access to striking 360-degree vistas. On Limitless Norwegian Fjords Cruises, there are always plenty of opportunities to use these facilities.

Is the sea rough in the Norwegian fjords?

The waters in the Norwegian fjords are generally much calmer than the open sea, thanks to the fjords' narrow and sheltered characteristics. This makes Norwegian fjord cruises an excellent choice for those concerned about sea sickness.

The cruise ship will be out on the open sea when travelling to, from and between fjords. Here, rougher seas are possible but entirely dependent on the weather, conditions, and season. Modern cruise ships are well-equipped with stabilisers to counteract rougher seas and minimise the motion you feel, ensuring a comfortable onboard experience.
