Your fantastic Grand Festive Cotswolds & Beyond tour begins today! After boarding our accessible coach at one of the UK pick-up points, we’ll make our way to the picturesque Wye Valley. Travellers in wheelchairs can choose to remain in their chair, which will be safely secured into place throughout the journey, or transfer to a standard seat.
On arrival at the hotel, which boasts more than 50 years of experience providing disabled specialist accommodation, the Limitless Team will help you check-in and get your bags to your room. There will be a little time to settle in and make yourself comfortable, then a home-cooked, three-course dinner will be served! After, it’s time for some excellent evening entertainment.
Day two of your festive holiday begins with a visit to the wonderful Ross on Wye Christmas market - the perfect opportunity to do a bit of Christmas shopping with over 70 stalls selling handmade arts and crafts, and mouthwatering treats. We'll then make the short trip back to the hotel for a traditional and delicious Sunday lunch with all the trimmings. We'll also enjoy some festive games and activities as a group to get us well and truly into the festive spirit.
The Cotswolds remains one of the most iconic stretches of English countryside and a popular destination for tourists who love the honey-stone cottages and dry-stone walls that line the region’s rural lanes. Today, we’ll travel to Bourton on the Water - one of the area’s most famous villages - to get a feel for life in the Cotswolds.
While there, we’ll visit Bourton’s famous Motor Museum, which is home to hundreds of vintage vehicles and a diverse collection of automobile memorabilia. You’ll then have the chance to wander around the village and explore its quaint shops and cafes. Don’t forget to pick up your holiday souvenirs along the way!
Today we'll head over to the Butterfly Zoo, for an interactive experience with over 100 different species of butterflies. We will walk around the tropical zoo, and afterwards head back to the hotel for some lunch.
On Day Five, we’ll be visiting the Forest of Dean. However, rather than driving around the woodlands, we’ll be boarding a traditional steam train and taking a memorable railway ride through some of the most spectacular scenery in the west. As well as passing pretty, rural villages, you’ll be taken through ancient woodland and beautiful winter landscapes.
At Limitless Travel, we know that Christmas isn’t really Christmas without a good, old festive panto! So, on Day Six, we’ll drive over to the cathedral city of Hereford to watch a panto performance. It’s a timeless holiday tradition, so make sure you’re ready for a bit of classic call and response. We want to hear you when it’s time to shout “He’s behind you!”
On your final, full day on holiday, we’ll be visiting Gloucester and its historic cathedral. A grand, exciting example of various styles of gothic architecture, the cathedral can trace its origins back to the Norman invasion and boasts a fantastically fascinating past. It’s also been used as an atmospheric backdrop in several big films, including Harry Potter.
You’ll be taken on a guided tour of the cathedral’s elaborate rooms and extensive cloisters, before we pause for a little lunch and then head into the city centre for some last-minute Christmas shopping.
Today, your accessible Grand Festive Cotswolds & Beyond Tour comes to an end. After a hearty breakfast, our accessible coach will depart the hotel for our various UK drop-off locations. Relax, take in the views of the countryside through the window and enjoy a little commentary from your Tour Manager. Now, all that’s left to do is say farewell to new friends and plan your next Limitless adventure!
