Are you ready for battle?By Jake Weldon -
'Niamh, danger to your left!'
'Angus, careful! Your rear is exposed!'
'Jake, you're a genius, how did you pull that off?!'
No, this isn't a Limitless Travel board meeting. These are the exact words that were said at the Battle of Bannockburn experience – a fully accessible re-enactment of the famous battle of Bannockburn.
Now I'm a proud half Scot, so it pains me to say that we don't win much. However, there was one battle where the Scots defied all the odds to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. That was on the 24th of June 1314. As the English (damn them!), marched through the lands of Scotland, Robert the Bruce took his 5,000 (give or take) brave Scottish men and destroyed a 25,000 strong horde of lily livered Englishmen.*
Now, what on earth does this have to do with accessible travel? Well you could be immersing yourself in this fantastic experience for yourself in June of this very year! It really is an incredible site, from the stunning memorial at the top of a slight slope, to the bearded Scottish man who waved in 'chariots first!' (I.e. wheelchair and scooter riders). Here, we got to re-enact the battle using state of the art VR, each of us commanding a small part of a larger army.
This fully accessible site is but one part of our June Scotland tour, running from the 2nd-6th of June, for the bargain price of £755.99 per person. This includes accessible transport, care support, and breakfast and evening meal at the stunning Hilton hydro Dumblane, as well as that priceless Limitless atmosphere. If you need proof of that valuation, just check our our Facebook reviews and ask our customers yourself!
If you would like to know more about this tour, or would just like to quiz my on my history knowledge (it's the only time I get to use my history degree!), then please enquire now and I would be happy to help.
See you on the battlefield laddie!
