Why more tourist attractions need Stairlifts installed

By Ethan Stairlift Guru - 09/02/2018
Tourism is big business both at home and abroad and there are many opportunities to attract many more visitors who may have limited access to hotels and the shopping malls. The solution to this problem is the introduction of stairlifts in both public and commercial buildings.

For some years it has been mandatory for all organisations to provide services to the public and this includes allowing full wheelchair access and if necessary wheelchair lifts. Since most modern stairlifts are designed to address issues of limited space not just in the home but in public and commercial buildings.
It is essential to have a key switch in a public place which prevents unauthorised use of the equipment and ensures proper supervision by the building owners.

The choice between straight or curved stairlifts is generally made by the building. A single flight of straight stairs will require a simple, straight stairlift, while multiple flights of straight stairs or a curved staircase will be best suited to a curved stairlift.

There are several other considerations that are required including what weight rating is needed which is generally to cater for people to around 18 stone but some models are able to cater for people up to 30 stone. Other features such as seats, footrests, armrests and the decision about these are determined by limitations in mobility by the primary user. So what will stairlifts bring to tourism with the investment required? People will feel wanted and wish to return time and time again. The same will apply to the public shopping areas and hotels throughout to UK.

The servicing requirements are slightly different for public use stairlifts, with more frequent weight annual testing as a current guideline, along with periodic safety-related testing such as electrical testing, fire alarm tests and others.

New developments such as shopping experiences, hotels, holiday apartments will all have great future opportunities to benefit with the installation of the stairlift.
