Disabled Access Day 2017By Elouise Mullen -
Disabled Access Day celebrates the innovative and wonderful work being done to make the world and all of its wonders accessible to people who may otherwise be excluded. It is a day to reflect, to try something new, and to meet with enthusiastic and like-minded people. This year Disabled Access Day stretches from 10th – 12th March, and already it look set to be an awesome weekend.
Theatres, business centres, and tourist attractions are all playing host to some incredible events to showcase some of the best accessible activities across the UK. For a comprehensive list of events, head to the Disables Access Day website: https://www.disabledaccessday.com/. I did a search of events in my hometown, good ol’ Brum, to see what’s on…
For those who prefer a more alternative afternoon, the famous Newman Brothers are opening the doors to their Coffin Works for a real treat. Their ipad tours give insight to previously unreachable areas of the factory, and there will be demonstrations too! You won’t want to miss this one – so book at least 24 hours in advance. Open for Disabled Access Day on Sunday 12th March from 15:00 – 16:00. To book, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Note that standard tour charges apply.
