About Hengistbury Head
Jutting out from the mainland and wrapping around Christchurch harbour, Hengistbury Head is an incredibly beautiful natural headland that attracts a large number of visitors each year. Whether you're interested in nature, archaeology, geology or just taking a gentle walk through stunning natural surroundings, it's a great place to visit.
While its history can be traced back to the Palaeolithic era, it is only recently that tourism has began to play an important role on the headland. Consequently, there have been considerable changes to the Head and vast improvements to access routes have been made.
