About Lyceum Theatre
The Lyceum Theatre is located on Wellington Street, just off the Strand, and is one of a number of theatres that make up London's famous West End. Like many of the city's theatres, it has a long history that includes periods of critical acclaim and instability, a number of fires, an in-house ghost, some of the greatest musical icons of the modern age and a rebirth that has seen the Lyceum's annual audience grow to over 760,000.
The theatre is instantly recognisable by its famous portico and façade, and its most recent renovation bestowed upon it a great deal of detailed rococo ornamentation. Currently, it is home to the hugely successful Lion King musical, which has thrilled audiences since opening in 1999.
